I try and try but I just can’t watch reality shows where people use food as a way to hurt someone. I come from an italian background and food was what brought us together, what helped us to begin and end our day and where we were encouraged to help, try new dishes and sometimes, talk over something that might be bothering us.
I am one of six children, I have 38 first cousins, plus their partners and their children, I have no children of my own but I have 15 nieces and nephews on my side and that many again on my husband’s side, my parents, uncles and aunts all love to eat, and the memories I have of us sitting around the table at my grandfather’s farm are of plates of pasta, home made wine and laughter. No wonder bullying is rife when we are allowing our kids to watch shows where people are welcomed into someone’s home and such nastiness is not only spoken but encouraged.
Talk about man’s inhumanity to man – too sad!
